Kottayam / Kanamala: A mini passenger bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka overturned near Kanamala, close to Erumeli, causing panic among passengers. The accident reportedly occurred while the vehicle was negotiating a turn, and initial reports suggest a possible brake failure.
Several pilgrims sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Local residents and police rushed to the spot to assist in rescue operations, and traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Officials have once again urged drivers transporting pilgrims during the Sabarimala season to strictly follow safety measures due to heavy traffic and challenging road conditions.
